Young Adults
First United Methodist Church offers Sunday school classes, social gatherings, and mission opportunities for young adults ages 18 to 29.
There are college students, professionals, singles, and married couples in our Sunday school classes. The classes are discussion-based, and our topics often involve applying Christianity to contemporary life. In the past, discussion topics have been drawn from magazines and sites like Relevant, Sojourners, and Christianity Today.
Since many of our class members are college students, we maintain a mailing list so those absent are able to keep up with our activities. Each week's agenda is sent to class members. The mailing list also helps us plan activities.
We meet for social activities outside of class, and also engage in service opportunities. In the past, we've volunteered at Mission Central, Central PA Food Bank, Bethesda Mission, Daystar, and within our church.
